Strathcona Hotel in Victoria, BC is highly recommended. It is a decent and convenient hotel which is close to almost everything. The room is quite tight but it is clean. They do daily housekeeping which I truly appreciate. During my vacation, I did not use the public transport. I just walked to visit the attractions there. The service was great, too. This is a 3 star hotel, but the service is more of a 4 star hotel. In fact, their service at Strathcona is way better than the 4 star hotel I used in Toronto before for work. I requested for bottles of water, and the person at the reception was so nice to bring it, himself, to my room. The 4 star hotel in Toronto before told me to go downstairs and pick it up, myself. See the difference?

I wasn't expecting much from staying at this property, but I was pleasantly surprised from my overall experience! All the staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating. When checking in I asked for a room on an upper floor, the gentleman offered a top floor corner room for me! My room was immaculate, bright and looked newly renovated! It had a comfortable bed with clean linens, a good sized mini fridge, and a large, bright bathroom with a walk-in shower. The location is fantastic! Walkable in all directions, three minutes to the inner harbor and Government St., seven minutes to China town and Johnson St. Bridge. Also, a Budget is only 1 ½ blocks from the hotel it you need a vehicle rental. The only negative I can share is the noise level from the two bars at street level connected to the hotel. On a Saturday night after 2 am the loud conversations and yelling is a bit much. Bring earplugs with you if your room faces Douglas Street. Aside from that, I would definitely stay at The Strathcona Hotel on future visits to Victoria!!

A wonderful place to stay when visiting Victoria. The building itself was wonderful. It was a wonderful mix of keeping the historical architecture and having modern rooms. The room itself was clean and spacious. Anja was such a huge help to my partner and I during our check in process. She made sure we had everything we needed and also gave us some great advice on places to see and eat at in Victoria. I really recommend checking on the restaurant and pub that’s connected to the hotel, the Sticky Wicket, the atmosphere was very cozy and the food was great. Highly recommended them. Thank you!

Great location for walking anywhere around downtown Victoria. Older, historic building so it's not super modern but still nice enough and well maintained. Lots of entertainment around so it can be a little loud. Quite time starts at midnight. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. I would stay again for sure.

Location is very central downtown and is walking distance from lots that the city has to offer. Our room served us well while we stayed in town for our convention (though my pillow was a little stiff) My real commendations though have to go to reception clerks Jesse, as well as Anja. We checked in late (around midnight) and experienced difficulty paying with our cards. I may have started panicking a little but Jesse was gracious enough to let us in and sort it out in the morning. I'm deeply grateful for the level of service shown and I wish them both the best!

Perfect stay in downtown! The hotel is in an amazing downtown location—super convenient for everything. Our stay was smooth and stress-free. Special shoutout to Ope at the reception—he was incredibly kind, helpful, and took care of everything with such professionalism. Truly made us feel welcome. Would definitely stay here again!

I stayed for three days. The location was good so I could enjoy all the tours(meeting point was close from this hotel). The workers were very nice. Especially ANJA was really helpful and kind. She gave me an information about Parliment free tour which I really enjoyed and other activities. Thank you pretty ANJA~!!
